On the DS and Precedent, the recurring items are the OBC on older 48 volt cars, the solenoid, and battery cable ends that corrode where the pack sits. A Precedent that will not charge is very often the onboard computer rather than the charger, and that distinction saves owners real money.
On the newer Onward and Tempo, the packs and controllers are far more reliable, so the work shifts to brakes, front end bushings, accessory wiring, and the charging receptacle. Lithium equipped Onwards mostly need charger and wiring diagnosis rather than pack work.
Both cars are usually 48 volt, and the pack is the single most expensive part of the cart. I load test the pack as a unit and each battery individually, then check cables, terminals, and whether the charger is finishing a cycle.
A pack that is swollen, leaking, or heat damaged comes out of service and goes to a certified recycler. I never open, puncture, or disassemble a pack of any chemistry.

Testing separates the two rather than guessing, which matters because the parts cost very different amounts.
