What is my golf cart worth?

Coastline Cart Values is a free golf cart and LSV value estimator built by the mechanic who repairs and resells carts across North County San Diego. Six questions, one honest range, no account required.

How the estimate is calculated

This is a rule-based calculator, not an appraisal. Brand tier sets the depreciation curve, model year sets the age, and the battery pack carries the largest dollar swing of any single factor. Carts depreciate far more slowly than eBikes because bodies last, drivetrains are simple, and coastal demand stays steady.

• Legacy premium (Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha): first year 15 percent loss, 8 percent per year after, floor 25 percent of original price, battery or pack replacement $1,400. Brands: Club Car, E-Z-GO, Yamaha.
• Street legal LSV: first year 18 percent loss, 10 percent per year after, floor 24 percent of original price, battery or pack replacement $2,600. Brands: ICON, Evolution, Advanced EV, Denago.
• Value brands: first year 22 percent loss, 12 percent per year after, floor 20 percent of original price, battery or pack replacement $1,500. Brands: Star EV, Tomberlin.
• Rebuilt, imported, or unknown: first year 28 percent loss, 15 percent per year after, floor 18 percent of original price, battery or pack replacement $1,500. Brands: .

A pack that barely holds a charge subtracts the full replacement figure for its tier. Condition runs from plus 10 percent for a garage kept cart to minus 40 percent for one that is not currently running, and the output is a range of plus or minus NaN percent because cart prices vary more by neighborhood than eBike prices do.

Battery packs decide the number

• Full range, strong on hills: 100 percent of value, minus 0 percent of the tier pack replacement cost.
• Noticeably shorter range: 97 percent of value, minus 45 percent of the tier pack replacement cost.
• Barely holds a charge or will not move: 94 percent of value, minus 100 percent of the tier pack replacement cost.
• I do not know: 96 percent of value, minus 35 percent of the tier pack replacement cost.

I never open, puncture, or disassemble a pack, and neither should you. Damaged packs go to the manufacturer or a certified recycler.

Hours and use

• Light use, a few trips a week: 104 percent of base.
• Regular neighborhood use: 100 percent of base.
• Daily use or a rental fleet cart: 90 percent of base.
• I do not know: 97 percent of base.

Independence disclosure

I buy golf carts, so here is how that conflict is handled: estimates are never adjusted based on purchase interest. The calculation runs off the published constants above and nothing else. A purchase offer is a separate figure priced for same day cash with transport and repair costs included, so it usually sits at or below the low end of the range. Values are rounded and the tool shows the live count of real data points behind it.

Cart tiers lose 15 percent in the first year at the top of the range, far less than an eBike.
