How it works
1Call or text your location
Drop us a pin or tell us the cross street. We ask what the bike is doing and what brand you ride, so the van shows up with the right parts.
2We dispatch the van and fix it on the spot
A real mechanic rolls out with tubes, pads, cables, connectors, and diagnostic tools. Most roadside calls are back on the road in under an hour.
3If it cannot be fixed roadside, we transport you
Motor swap, cracked frame, dead battery pack. We load the bike, get you home, and put the job in our next available service slot.

Common rescue scenarios
Dead battery mid ride
You went out on a full charge and the display quit four miles from the car. Sometimes it is a loose battery latch or a corroded connector, which we fix in minutes. Sometimes it is a cell group that has dropped out and the pack has shut itself down. Rad Power and Lectric packs are common here, and we carry the tools to read pack voltage on the spot before deciding whether to repair or transport.
Flat tire on the Coast Highway
Glass on the shoulder of Carlsbad Blvd is a weekly call for us. Heavy eBike tires with rear hub motors are miserable to change on the roadside without the right wrenches and a torque spec. We handle the wheel removal, the tube, the torque, and the brake alignment so nothing rubs on the ride home. Fat tire Super73 and Aventon wheels included.
Brake failure
A lever that pulls to the bar is not something to ride out. On hydraulic systems it is usually air in the line or a pad worn past the backing plate. On mechanical systems it is a stretched cable or a seized caliper arm. We bleed, replace, and re align on site, then test the bike with you before we leave.
Snapped chain
Torque sensors and 750 watt motors chew chains, especially on a hill start. A snapped chain often takes the derailleur or hanger with it. We carry chain, quick links, and the tool to size it, and we check the cassette for the hooked teeth that caused the break in the first place.
Motor cutout
Power drops out over bumps, then comes back. That is almost always a connector or a hall sensor cable, not a dead motor. We trace the harness from the controller to the hub and find the break. Super73 and Aventon rear hub harnesses have known chafe points we check first.
Controller error codes
Error 21, 30, 04, and the rest are the bike telling you exactly what is wrong. We read the code, confirm it against the actual hardware, and tell you whether it is a five minute fix or a parts order. Rad Power, Lectric, Aventon, and Super73 codes are all in our reference set.
eBike Towing and Transport
When a repair cannot happen at the curb, Coastline Fix tows the bike. Rescue pickup and transport is $75 within 10 miles of Carlsbad 92009, which covers the Village, La Costa, Aviara, Bressi Ranch, most of Oceanside, and Encinitas down through Cardiff. Beyond that radius we quote by distance before we roll.
The van takes two full size eBikes at a time, including long tail cargo frames like the RadWagon, fat tire builds like the Super73 RX, and folders like the Lectric XP. Bikes ride secured and padded, not stacked. If you have a rider and a bike, we can usually take both.
Traditional towing services treat an eBike like a bicycle on a rack. We treat it like a vehicle with a battery, a harness, and a controller that all need to arrive intact. Batteries are handled and secured separately when a pack shows any sign of damage or heat.
Why Coastline Fix instead of AAA
AAA and the traditional roadside plans will come get you, and for a car that is exactly what you want. For an eBike it is a tow and nothing more. They do not read controller error codes, they do not bleed hydraulic brakes, and they do not carry a spare tube for a 20 by 4 fat tire.
Coastline Fix is an eBike specialist first and a rescue service second. Most of the time we fix the problem where you are standing and you ride home the same hour. When we cannot, the tow is done by the same person who will do the repair, so nothing gets lost in a handoff.

Roadside rescue FAQ
How fast can you get to me?
Our response target is under 60 minutes in Carlsbad, Encinitas, and Oceanside during service hours. Coastal calls between the Village and Moonlight Beach are usually faster than that. Call rather than text if you are in traffic or in a spot with no shade.
What does roadside rescue cost?
Dispatch is $49 flat and it is applied toward your repair total, so it is not a wasted fee. On site work runs at standard Coastline Fix rates, starting at $35 for a flat, $40 for brakes, $45 for battery diagnostics, and $55 for motor or controller work.
Can you fix a dead battery on site?
Often yes. Loose latches, corroded connectors, blown inline fuses, and bad charge ports are all roadside repairs. A pack with failed cells or a tripped BMS that will not reset needs bench time, and in that case we transport the bike instead of guessing.
What if you cannot fix it roadside?
We load the bike and you into the van. Rescue pickup and transport is $75 within 10 miles of Carlsbad 92009. We drop the bike at your place or take it straight into our next available service slot, whichever gets you riding sooner.
What areas do you cover?
All of North County San Diego. Carlsbad, Oceanside, and Encinitas get our fastest response. We also run rescue calls in Vista, San Marcos, Leucadia, Cardiff, Solana Beach, Del Mar, Rancho Santa Fe, and Carmel Valley.
Do you rescue regular bicycles too?
Yes. Flats, brakes, chains, and shifting on an acoustic bike are all in scope and the same dispatch pricing applies. Electric drivetrains are our specialty, but we are not going to leave a rider stranded over a tube.
Stopped somewhere you should not be?
Get off the shoulder, then call. Text or call (858) 683-6900, or book online and we will confirm a window.
