Golf Cart Lithium Conversions and Lithium Pack Service

Lithium is the right answer for some carts and a waste of money for others. I will price a lithium conversion against a fresh lead acid pack for your actual cart and your actual use, then install whichever one you pick at your house.

When lithium is worth it

Lithium earns its price on carts that work: daily driving, hilly routes, four passengers, or a street legal LSV that covers real distance. It holds voltage under load instead of sagging, so the cart feels the same on the last mile as the first, and it usually outlasts two or three lead acid packs.

It also removes about two hundred pounds and all the maintenance. No watering, no specific gravity checks, no terminal cleaning every few months.

When a lead acid pack is the better buy

If the cart moves a few times a week around a neighborhood, a fresh lead acid pack costs far less and will likely outlive your interest in the cart. Spending lithium money on a cart you use lightly, or on an older cart with tired brakes and a worn front end, is money in the wrong place.

I would rather sell you a lead acid pack and a tune-up than a lithium conversion you did not need. If that is what your cart calls for, that is what I will tell you.

What a proper conversion includes

A conversion is not just a battery swap. It needs a pack sized to your cart voltage, a compatible charger with the correct lithium profile, secure mounting and tray adaptation, correct cabling and fusing, and a check that the controller and any accessory wiring are happy with the new source.

A lead acid charger on a lithium pack is unsafe, so the charger is part of the job and part of the quote. I never open, puncture, or modify a lithium pack, and any pack that arrives damaged goes back to the manufacturer.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a golf cart lithium conversion cost?

The pack and the correct charger are the bulk of the cost and both depend on your cart voltage and the capacity you want, so I quote after confirming the cart. Labor starts at the $99 repair visit plus installation. I will price a fresh lead acid pack alongside it so you can compare real numbers.

Is a lithium golf cart battery worth it?

For daily use, hills, or an LSV carrying passengers, usually yes, because it holds voltage under load and typically outlasts two or three lead acid packs. For a cart used a few times a week, a fresh lead acid pack is normally the better value.

Do I need a new charger for a lithium conversion?

Yes, in almost every case. Lithium packs require a charger with the correct charge profile, and using a lead acid charger on a lithium pack is unsafe. The correct charger is included in the conversion quote.

Will lithium make my cart faster?

It will not raise the top speed the controller allows, but it usually feels quicker and much more consistent, because voltage stays up under load instead of sagging on hills and at the end of a charge.

Can you service a lithium pack that is already in my cart?

Yes. I test the pack, charger, and wiring, and read state of health where the system reports it. Any pack that is swollen, damaged, or faulty is referred to the manufacturer or a certified facility. I never open a pack.
