Frequently asked questions

How often should eBike brake pads be replaced?

Every 500 to 1500 miles depending on rider weight, hills, and rain. Coastal riders in Encinitas and Solana Beach often need pads more often because grit accelerates wear.

What is a hydraulic brake bleed?

Replacing the old fluid in the brake lines with fresh fluid to restore firm lever feel and stopping power. Most systems need this every one to two years.

Can you upgrade my brakes?

Yes. Common upgrades for heavy eBikes and Super73 are sintered pads, larger 203mm rotors, and four piston calipers. We install everything on site.

Why do my eBike brakes squeal?

Usually contaminated pads, glazed rotors, or misalignment. All three are fixed during a standard brake service.
