The most common Aventon issues we see - torque sensor faults, throttle glitches, brake howl - and how to fix each one across Level, Pace, Aventure, and Sinch.
Aventon builds a solid eBike but a handful of issues repeat across the lineup. Here is what we see most across the Level, Pace, Aventure, and Sinch.
Aventon torque sensors sometimes read zero at startup and pedal assist does nothing. Fix: shift to lowest gear, hold pedals still, power cycle. Recalibrates on boot.
Level and Pace throttles have a fiddly 5-pin connector that vibrates loose. Check it under the controller cover before assuming the throttle is dead.
Stock pads on the Aventure squeal when wet - common after early morning coastal rides in Cardiff or Del Mar. Sand pads lightly, clean rotors with isopropyl, rebed.
The Aventon battery latch is a common failure point. If your battery rattles or the bike loses power over bumps, check the latch and mounting pins. A bent latch is a $30 part.
The folding hinge on the Sinch throws chain tension off when the bike gets bounced in a car. Add a chain guide or adjust the rear derailleur limit screws.
Aventon app pairing is finicky. Fully close the app, forget the bike in phone Bluetooth settings, restart phone, retry. Works about 80% of the time.
Some V2 Aventures whine at low pedal cadence. Aventon has a firmware update that reduces it - worth pushing before you assume the motor is bad.
