Murf eBikes started as a small Southern California brand and grew fast among coastal riders who wanted a moto-style bike without the moto price tag. Here's what a mobile mechanic actually sees when they roll into the shop.

The lineup

• **Murf Alpha** - the flagship moto-style bike. Big battery, wide tires, comfortable bench seat.
• **Murf Higgs** - commuter-friendly, lighter, still plenty of range.
• **Fat Murf** - fat-tire cruiser for beach and soft-terrain riders.

What Murf gets right

• Solid frame construction - heavier than average, which the coast likes
• Real hydraulic brakes on higher trims (huge upgrade over mechanical)
• Good display + throttle ergonomics
• Direct-to-consumer pricing lands well below Super 73 for similar spec

What we see in repairs

• **Motor connector corrosion** - like every eBike near the coast, the rear hub motor phase connector needs dielectric grease from day one
• **Battery lock wear** - the sliding lock mechanism can jam if not kept clean; a dry lube on the rails prevents it
• **Brake pad glazing** - heavy bike, coastal hills - pads need earlier replacement than the manual suggests
• **Loose bench-seat hardware** - check the bolts every 500 miles

Reliability verdict

On par with Super 73 for build quality, better than most direct-to-consumer brands, and easier to source common wear parts than the ultra-boutique brands. If you ride it wet, service it twice a year.
