COASTLINE FIX

Drivetrain Service

Chains, cassettes, derailleurs, and gear tuning.

$75 to $180

eBike drivetrains wear two to three times faster than regular bike drivetrains because of the torque. Replacing a stretched chain in time saves you the cassette and chainring, which is where the real money is.

Frequently asked questions

How often should I replace my eBike chain?

Every 800 to 1500 miles for most eBikes. Torque sensor mid drives eat chains faster, cadence sensor hub drives slower. We measure chain stretch during every tune up.

How much is a full drivetrain replacement?

$150 to $300 including parts. A single chain is $75 to $95. A chain plus cassette plus chainring is $180 to $300.

My gears skip under power. Why?

Usually a stretched chain and worn cassette that no longer mesh. Sometimes a bent derailleur hanger. Both are fixed during a drivetrain service.

Do you carry eBike rated chains?

Yes. KMC eBike specific chains and Shimano CN E series are stocked. Standard bike chains do not last on eBikes.
