Super 73 Maintenance Schedule: What to Service and When (2026)
MaintenanceJune 17, 20266 min read
The full Super 73 maintenance schedule for Z1, S1, S2, RX, and ZX models - chain, brakes, tires, battery, and controller intervals.
Super 73s are some of the highest-mileage eBikes we service in North County San Diego. Follow this schedule and yours will outlast most of them.
Every ride (2 minutes)
Check tire pressure - Super 73 fat tires run 15–25 psi depending on model
Squeeze both brake levers before rolling out
Glance at chain tension on Z1/S2/RX single-speeds
Every 100 miles
Lube the chain (wet lube for coastal riders in Encinitas or Cardiff)
Wipe the frame - salt air corrodes bolts and connectors fast
Verify battery lock is secure
Every 500 miles
Inspect brake pads - Super 73 pads glaze quickly under weight
Check chain stretch with a wear gauge
Torque axle nuts and torque arms (motor mount check)
Clean and dielectric-grease the motor phase connector
Every 1,000 miles or 6 months
Bleed hydraulic brakes (S2, RX, ZX)
Replace chain if 0.5% stretched
Battery health test - capacity vs rated capacity
Full drivetrain and controller connector inspection
Annually
Replace brake pads (sintered strongly recommended for coastal hills)
Bearing service - headset, bottom bracket, wheel hubs
Firmware/display error code review
Full 20-point mobile tune-up
Coastal SD notes
Salt air is the silent killer. If your Super 73 lives near the coast (Carlsbad, Oceanside, Encinitas, Del Mar), cut every "every 1,000 miles" interval in half and wipe connectors monthly.
Book it once, forget it
We run the full Super 73 service schedule as a mobile visit - you never move the bike. Save the schedule and let us do the reminders.
